The air conditioning evaporator absorbs heat from the air passing through your car’s ventilation system. As refrigerant evaporates inside it, the surrounding air cools before entering the cabin. The evaporator also helps remove moisture from the air, supporting a comfortable interior. When choosing a replacement AC evaporator, make sure it matches your vehicle’s specifications.
Which AC evaporator fits your car?
The correct evaporator depends on your vehicle’s make, model, year and air conditioning configuration. Compare the OE reference number, core dimensions, refrigerant connections and mounting design. Some vehicles have separate front and rear evaporators, so check the installation position. Also check whether the required seals and any associated expansion valve are included or sold separately.
When should you replace an AC evaporator?
A leaking evaporator can allow refrigerant to escape and reduce cooling performance. However, weak cooling can also result from faults elsewhere in the AC system. Unpleasant odours alone do not necessarily mean the evaporator needs replacing; the cabin filter, condensation drain or evaporator surface may need attention. Have the fault diagnosed before replacement, and use a qualified AC specialist for installation and refrigerant handling.
Browse the air conditioning evaporators in this category and compare the product specifications to find the right replacement for your car.
